Virtuosi Racing announce Douwe Dedecker for the 2023 British F4 season

Virtuosi Racing are delighted to announce Douwe Dedecker for the 2023 FIA British Formula 4 season. The Belgian karting ace becomes the British outfit’s first confirmed signing for the season ahead.

Dedecker joins the team off the back of a successful karting career. Having begun karting aged eight on his home track in Genk, he has established himself in the karting world as a talented and confident racer, racking up a long list of race and championship wins and top-three finishes. The 15-year-old most recently competed in OK-Juniors, before stepping up to OK mid-season for the world championships at the end of 2022.

2023 will be the BWT-sponsored Belgian’s first year competing in single seaters and he’ll be hoping to learn from the successful FIA Formula 2 team.

On the signing, Virtuosi Racing’s F4 team boss Mark Salmon said:

“I’m pleased to welcome Douwe into the Virtuosi family. We’re very excited to work with him this year as he makes the big step up into single seaters following a successful karting career. We look forward to enjoying a great season achieving our goals together.”

Douwe Dedecker added:

“I’m looking forward to joining such a great team in my first season of single seaters in the British F4 championship. I’m looking forward to the season ahead and hoping to get the best results possible.”

Virtuosi enjoyed a solid debut season in British F4 following the team’s decision to expand into the championship after it was taken over by British motorsport governing body Motorsport UK from 2022. The Norfolk-based squad took a win and a podium in their first year competing and will be looking to build on that success in 2023.

The 2023 British F4 season will commence at Donington Park on April 22-23.
